THE ATLANTIC ADVENTURES CLIFTON WATERSKI CHALLENGE
Book a trip on Southern Cross to Watch the start ....... This event is open to all boats which have a valid SAMSA approved safety certificate, and a Certificated Skipper aboard. We are expecting approximately 30 small boats towing water skiers to participate. This event starts from the Granger Bay side of the Breakwater wall, and follows the Atlantic seaboard, around North Lions Paw, finishing on Clifton’s 4th Beach. The maximum distance that any participant should venture from the shoreline should be no more than 1 nautical mile. As you can appreciate, waterskiing in the sea is difficult enough as it is, without the interference of wakes from larger spectator boats. While we encourage spectator boats, we appeal to the skippers to stay well clear of the intended course, just prior to the start of the event, and it’s 1 hour duration. The Start is at 12:00 sharp on this Sunday 21st March 2010 from the Breakwater wall, and the cut-off time is 13:00 at 4th Beach Clifton.
The organisers have a permit from the City of Cape Town, Department of Sport, Recreation and Amenities to stage this event. In addition to the NSRI, we have high level paramedics and ambulances on standby. Safety is our utmost concern. The Organizers
